On June 15th, 2018, President Donald Trump made a “surprise appearance” on Fox & Friends outside the White House. Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy spent thirty minutes interviewing President Trump. Doocy was quick to ask about the Inspector General Report, released the previous day.
“The top people were horrible,” Trump said of the 2016 FBI leadership. “You look at what happened. They were plotting against my election.”
“But I’m actually proud,” President Trump continued, “because I beat Clinton Dynasty, I beat Bush Dynasty, and now I guess, hopefully, I’m in the process of beating very dishonest intelligence, because what they did was incredible, and a real insult to millions of people that voted in that election, on both sides.”
Trump specifically disagreed with the Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s conclusion about then-FBI Director James Comey. “The end result was wrong,” Trump told Doocy, “I mean there was total bias. When you look at Peter Strzok and what he said about me, when you look at Comey, all his moves.”
From: President Donald Trump, To: Inspector General Michael Horowitz “You Blew It!”
“It’s almost like Comey,” The President said of the Inspector General’s investigation. “[Comey] goes point after point about how guilty Hillary is and then he said, but we’re not gonna do anything about it.”
